À Nos Voisins: Quebec City Awaits in 2025

Writer: Sam.DSam.D

Yes! - You're Still Welcome

Over the past months, there’s been a shift in the air—one of those subtle changes that you don’t notice right away, but when it hits, it’s there. Two months ago, I wouldn’t have given it a second thought. But now, there’s this slight tension when we talk about tariffs, politics, and their impact on daily life in both Canada and the U.S. (Ah, the joy of international drama.)

Let’s clear something up: Canadians (and Quebecers) don’t hate Americans. We know political shifts happen, and they affect everyone differently. I don’t always agree with our politics either. But if you’ve been wondering, “Am I still welcome in Canada?”—the answer is a resounding yes. Travel is about people, experiences, and connections—not government policies.. (And let’s be real, our poutine has no political agenda. It’s just a plate of deliciousness with zero hidden motives...or maybe!)

That said, many Canadians are feeling the effects of these changes and are reconsidering where they spend their travel dollars. Given everything going on, there’s never been a better time to explore our own backyard. Why not rediscover the beauty, culture, and history that Quebec City has to offer? Supporting local businesses keeps our economy strong and helps the people who rely on travelers like you.

Quebec City has always had a unique relationship with U.S. visitors. After all, there are deep historical ties between us. There is many link between usa and our history .It’s a place where history meets charm, where cobblestone streets lead to warm welcomes. So, if you’re an American traveler not sure—don’t hesitate. Just come. People will see you as someone open to discovery and open mind . You’ll find the same hospitality, the same breathtaking views, and the same unforgettable experiences. (And yes, we’ll still pretend to be impressed when you attempt French.)

I’m not trying to flatter anyone here—that’s not my point. But I’ll admit, it’s a bit sad that, after 10 years of guiding, there’s this new small tension in the air. The thing is, Quebec City’s charm hasn’t changed one bit.

For Canadians looking to make more mindful travel choices, Quebec City is an obvious and rewarding option. Whether it’s for a weekend getaway or a deeper dive into our history and culture, this city has a way of making every visit feel special. It’s not just about seeing new places; it’s about rediscovering what makes our country so unique while supporting our communities. You might even find yourself refreshing that old history class you once thought you’d forgotten. Oui!

So, whether you're coming from just across the border or across another province, one thing is certain: Quebec City is ready to welcome you . We won’t be the 51st, but if you come visit we’ll always be here with a warm welcome.

In any case, I’ll see you as a human and welcome you just as warmly as you do. Unless, of course, your favorite pizza is Hawaiian. Then... well, that’s a whole other conversation.
