BONJOUR
My name is Samuel Dubois, and I was born and raised in Quebec City.
When I travel, I always start with a walking tour it’s the best way to understand a city through the eyes of a local (and yes, I practice what I preach).
I also really enjoy traveling myself all around the world.
I’ve been a licensed tour guide for over 11 years, after completing my training at Collège Mérici, and I’ve been guiding curious travelers through Quebec City ever since.
Quebec City is one of the oldest cities in North America, packed with history, hidden details, and stories many locals don’t even know.My approach is simple: real history, told in a fun, human way — no boring lectures, no rigid scripts… and no umbrellas held in the air like a tour flag.
Over the years, I’ve worked with school groups and educational programs (EF Tours, Tours Bon Vivants), as well as private and corporate groups for organizations like Shopify, Université Laval, CBIE, and many others. I also offer custom private walking tours, adapted to your interests, your pace, and your curiosity!
This free tour is exactly that: local, independent, and non-corporate.
I run it myself from start to finish and tips at the end go directly to me, not to a platform or a middleman from somewhere else.
My tours have been featured on Good Morning America, Radio-Canada, BBC2, and Star Tribune, and have earned multiple TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards, with hundreds of 5-star reviews.
Quebec City has a lot of great guides, and many of them do an excellent job.
I just happen to be one of the good ones (that’s what my dad says): approachable, passionate, and genuinely happy to share this city with you.If you’re looking for a tour that feels more like being shown around by a local than being lectured by a company…
I think you’ve landed in pretty good hands.
And yes, if you enjoy local microbreweries, I’ll happily point you in the right direction after the tour.
Join me and see Quebec City differently.
Merci et à bientôt,
Samuel Dubois
