Beyond the Tour: Why I’m Rediscovering My Own Backyard

The winter is finally fading, and as I prep for the upcoming 2026 tour season, I’ve realized something: Quebec City never stops sharing its secrets.

Over the last few months, I’ve been working on a personal passion project called Passe pas à côté de la plaque (Don’t Walk Past the Plaque). The goal was simple: stop at those historical markers we usually ignore and tell the real, fascinating stories behind them (with always few jokes) I dive deep into these subject from 200 years old newspaper to unique documentation.

The Local Buzz

To my surprise, the series has completely taken off. I recently released a video that reached over 500,000 views and 1,000 shares. (Via Facebook and other plateforms) Seeing that many locals connect with their own history has been a huge wake-up call for me.

Even though these videos are currently in French and often cover industrial or hidden character/spots outside my usual tour routes, the response has been incredible. It reminded me that what I love most isn't just "guiding" it’s revealing the soul of this city.  What This Means For You You might not understand my French videos (yet!), but you will definitely benefit from the research. After 11 years of guiding, I’m pushing myself harder than ever to uncover every hidden detail. My goal is to eventually cover every single plaque in the city—and believe me, there are a lot!

My local research fuels every tour I give. Instead of a scripted history lesson, you'll get fresh discoveries and the unique perspective of a lifelong local who uncovers something new every day. My goal is to connect our local heritage with visitors from across the globe, creating a meaningful link between our community and travelers from the US and Europe (or anywhere else).

Book Your 2026 Spot

The season is officially kicking off. If you want to see Quebec City through the eyes of a guide who spends his "off-time" digging up the city's best-kept secrets, now is the time to secure your spot.
